Bach Flowers are flower remedies that are excellent for balancing our emotions.
Dr. Edward Bach, an English homeopath, decided to use the natural forces of certain varieties of wild and harmless flowers that used alone or together with any treatment, change negative mental states, improving and strengthening mood and consequently acting positively on illness.
There are 38 flowers discovered by Dr. Bach, and each of these remedies is indicated for a particular type of character or emotional state.
Choosing the most correct remedy requires thinking about what kind of person you are and the emotional states you are experiencing.
Chemically, Bach flower solutions are mixtures of brandy and water in a 50:50 proportion.
Dispersed in the water fraction we find the flower material (called mother tincture).
Bach flowers are described as "vibrational medicines" and exploit the concept of "water memory."
Each Bach flower can be considered as an element with unique and specific characteristics; however, Bach flower solutions can be mixed together.
The method of intake is generally orally, and solutions can be recommended by a naturopath or Bach flower expert after an appropriate interview.
Perhaps the best known remedy is "Rescue Remedy," an equal parts mixture of Rock Rose, Impatiens, Clematis, Star of Bethlehem, and Cherry Plum, which according to Bach would be useful in more acute situations such as extreme stress, panic attacks, fainting spells, bad news, etc., as well as physical trauma. In addition to by mouth, this remedy can also be applied on the temples or wrists, or directly on the painful part.
